Linkfest on the financial crisis

1. Simon Johnson feels that the finance industry has effectively captured the US Government, and the sub-prime mortgage crisis was the US version of "crony capitalism".

2. Rolling Stone has a very appropriate list of the dirty dozen (and here) - the bankers and brokers responsible for the financial crisis and the officials who let them get away with it!

3. Matt Taibi (and here) goes behind the curtain to expose the large bankers and their political masters who "chased phantom fortunes at the Wall Street card tables, like a dissolute nobleman gambling away the family estate in the waning days of the British Empire", and are now milking the tax payer money in the guise of bailouts.

4. Naomi Klein (and here) feels that the Wall Street bailout looks like Iraq, a "free-fraud zone" where private financiers cash in on the mess they helped create.
