Urban Poverty - India tops

The incidence of urban poverty (proportion of urban population) is the highest in India - 39.3% assuming $1 per day and 80.1% at $2 per day - higher than even sub-Saharan Africa and compared to a mere 0.8% and 10.7% respectively for China. Among all the regions, South Asia is the least urbanized, with the urban share of the population being just 28.1%, compared to 37.7% for China, and global average of 42.3%.
